It is a huge honour to represent the people of the East of England. We face uncertain times but will be stronger by continuing to work together. I remain committed to represent you to the best of my ability.

I campaigned for a Remain vote because I was deeply concerned about the economic impact of a "Leave outcome" and the instability that was likely to occur. See HERE. Now that results of the referendum are known, I will do what I can to try to minimise negative impacts and to help secure the best terms possible for UK people, businesses and services.

The UK has not yet triggered the Article 50 and it is important that all options and influence are kept open for the negotiations ahead. Therefore at least for the time being, I remain Chairman of the Parliament's Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee.

I stand for:

  • Sound Economics and Free Market principles, reducing red tape and stopping protectionism.
  • Protect the Pound and financial rules for the Eurozone do not apply to the UK.
  • Protect the UK with strong border controls and cross-border security.
