October 2009 - Vicky visits The Welding Institute (TWI) in Abington and learnt about their role as a world leading research organisation into material properties. TWI is supported by industrial companies from across all continents. Vicky saw examples of how their work has been applied to innovation in areas from oil exploration to medical devices.
7 March 2009 - Vicky joins local councillors, members of the public and activists for Suffolk Coastal Constituency's annual political conference. She speaks on the upcoming European elections and enjoys a wide variety of questions.

2006 - 2009 - Vicky was the local councillor for the Balsham Ward of South Cambridgeshire district council. Campaigning on many local issues from affordable housing to safety on rural roads. During her time as a councillor she was the portfolio for community development and then finance.
26 November 2006 - Vicky met patients at Basildon Hospital and hears their concerns and praises about their local hospital. Vicky realises that in the rapidly growing East of England public services are not being allowed to keep up with population growth - She becomes a blogger!
6 April 2009 - Vicky joins local councillors and conservatives to discuss the impact of the recession on unemployment in the Basildon area.

November 2009 - Vicky visited the Science park with Jim Paice MP to meet with a cross section of leading Biotech companies. They learn how important it is for the UK to support its innovative businesses especially by enabling them to access funds for medical research. Vicky followed up with various meetings in Brussels - the EU will be reviewing its grants for Research and Development in the coming months. Vicky believes UK businesses should help lead the debate on how innovative research is funded.

30 April 2009 - Vicky meets volunteers at the Oxfam shop with Andrew Mitchell MP shadow minister for international development. They discuss Conservative party policy for developing countries and hear from volunteers what has made this shop so successful. They also learn from local Rotarians how East Anglian Rotary clubs have been helping build wells for drinking water in Africa

She learns about the long running concerns regarding the de-generation of the town and particularly the need for a by-pass. The following spring she visited Dunstable again and sees how the town is suffering from the recession with boarded up shops and businesses.

16 March 2007 - Vicky Collects David Cameron from Ely Station and takes him for a tour of the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Ely. They meet doctors, nurses and patients and discuss how important community hospitals are.
13 May 2009 - Vicky joins local councillor Guy McGregor canvassing, She learns what the council has been doing on affordable housing, schools and roads hears residents concerns on immigration and employment. She spoke in a public meeting at Eye Town hall.

27 February - Vicky joined campaigners from Harlow in their march to Westminster to demand a referendum on the Lisbon treaty. Vicky campaigned for the referendum vote in Harlow with local activists during January and February 2008.

21 July 2009 - Vicky attends a meeting of the European and International Affairs Panel in Peterborough to ask questions about EU funds being spent in the East of England. "Its British taxpayer's money and we should get our fair share" says Vicky. She also learns how Peterborough is leading debate both domestically and internationally on environmental issues.

Vicky lives on the Cambridgeshire-Essex-Suffolk borders and her local towns are Cambridge, Haverhill, Newmarket and Saffron Walden. During the summer months Vicky's son Edward has enjoyed playing Cricket for the vibrant Saffron Walden club where Hugo, her husband, helped out each Sunday as volunteer coach. The climax of the 2009 season was a game of "old fashioned" rules (i.e. no boundaries) on the common.
